Introduction
In late December 2024, a visionary idea was co-developed by Anton Tranelis and Bart Hoorweg, inspired by an earlier encounter with Mars Robertson’s “Money from the Future”. This innovative concept proposes personalized, custom-made money as a medium for creating parallel economies, marketing opportunities, and trust-based networks. The journey began in September 2024 at the Gathering of Tribes, where Bart first encountered Mars’s self-printed, intricately designed money. These tangible representations of value sparked a conversation that would grow into a shared mission to redefine how money can function in society.

The Concept
Personalized Money: A New Paradigm
At its core, personalized money is a physical, custom-designed currency that individuals or organizations can create. Each piece of money carries unique identifiers such as:
Custom Designs: Incorporating personal branding, logos, or artistic elements.
QR Codes: Linking to a personal webpage, profile, or service offering.
Blockchain Integration: Optional NFTs to secure value and track provenance.
This approach turns money into more than a medium of exchange—it becomes a storytelling tool, a representation of trust, a catalyst for collaboration, and an innovative business card for individuals and organizations.
‘Feel it in your hands to fully appreciate it. Sometimes people ask me "how are you making money"... The secret is quality paper.’
- Mars Robertson, originator of Money from the Future
Use Cases and Benefits
1. Marketing Tool
Personalized money acts as an innovative business card. By including a QR code, recipients can access a user’s portfolio, services, or links to crowdfunding campaigns. This amplifies visibility and engagement while offering a tangible, creative way to leave a lasting impression.
2. Parallel Economy
This currency can facilitate exchanges within closed or alternative economic systems. Users can define the value of their money, whether denominated in hours, euros, or specific goods/services. Alternatively, the money can remain a token of infinite value, emphasizing its role as a medium for storytelling and connection, rather than comparison and competition.
